Assignment 5

1) When looking at my Midterm, I think that my most significant accomplishment was how I was able to scale image and retouch them to make them look like they belong on the background. The main tools I used to used to do this were the spot healing brush, the stamp clone tool, and the eraser tool.

2) The most challenging experience for me was being able make to images look like they are seamlessly apart of one image. A specific technique that was extremely difficult for me at the start of this quarter was the use of the clone stamp tool. Despite this fact, it is one of my staple tools now.

3) The two projects I am comparing are the first quiz, the magazine cover, and the Midterm Project. I chase these because they show the most difference in terms of skillful use of photoshop. As you can see, the images in the caver are anything but seamless and look like they are from another picture. However, my midterm looks almost opposite. My main goal for this project was to make it look like a realistic image, so I put great car into making the separate images belong to the background.

Blog Assignment 4

1) For my final project, I decided to revisit blog assignment 2, that is, creating an ice image. I am revisiting this for a couple reasons; one being that I really enjoyed it, but also because I wanted to elaborate on it. I feel like because it was a blog assignment, I could have done alot more with it but held back because it was a simple assignment. I want to convert it into a full on project. I want to really capture the whole ice theme, from the images to the background and even the small details. I also wanted to appy what interests me the most. So, I turned a car into ice and made it look like it is drifting on a frozen lake.

2) I am using the big idea of an ice environment. some inspirations for my project are lanscape photography(specifically ice landscapes), landscape painting, and action photography.

3) A photoshop technique that I will be using is turning an image into ice. (worth1000.com/iceparrot).

Blog Assignment 3

Leonardo Da Vinci (as an Inventor)

I chose Leonardo Da Vinci as my "Big Idea" artist, specifically for the idea of evolution, because he was the most inivative thinker of his time. His ideas were revolutionary and ahead of his time. In regards to his inventions, he wanted to evolve the way people lived. He wanted to make living life easier and more practical, whether it was for transportation or for more simple day to day tasks. He ispired everyone around him to "think outside the box" when it came to revolutionizing how people lived. He was a major conntributer to the evolution of humanity.

Chris Bangle

Chris Bangle is the design manager for BMW and is responsible for most of the modern designs of the company. His work appeals to me because of the subtlety of his designs. His designs are very eye pleasing and can turn heads, but also escapes the recent trends of big and gaudy designs of modern cars today. I will try to use his methods of a natural look in my midterm project by making the created image look natural and look like it "fits." I am also using him as an inspirational artists because my topic of the Big Idea is the evolution of speed.
